I just read on Yahoo that Bonds is sueing Schilling for the comments he made to Costas. Bonds attorney said they have been silent until now to concentrate on the home run record, but now they will be going after those making false statements about Bonds. Thought is was interesting.

Geez, it's one idiot suing another idiot. Why was Costas interviewing him about Bonds' mistress, anyway?
Make that 3 idiots.

I think this is another one of those cases that will mysteriously disappear before it gets filed. To prove defamation, Bonds must prove first that those comments were a deliberate attempt to discredit him in some way, and he must also prove that they are not true. In other words, Bonds would have to prove that Schilling's statements faults. While they may have been an attempt to discredit Bonds, I would find it hard to believe that he could ever prove in a court of law that they were false statements. I think it's funny that the "innocent until proven guilty" crap that all the Bonds lovers out there keep spewing will end up being his undoing. .

Zero

Bonds and his lawyers are going to have to prove that Schillings statements defamed his character.....for that to happen Bonds would have to HAVE some character to defame, and we all know he dosen't..

Has Schilling made any statements about Bonds that do not at least have a little bit of truth behind them?

No he hasn't, in matter of fact I applaud Mr. Schilling for standing up for baseball and all of its fans, for saying what about 90% of fans thinks of Mr. Bonds

Curt Schilling has now done something no other baseball personality has ever done: He has made me cheer for Barry Bonds. Like Lee Thomas, the former Phillies GM, said, One day out of five, Schilling is a horse; the other four, he's a horse's @$$ -- dollar signs added for emphasis.

Prof. Anger is the only one who seems to get it - there's no way Bonds will sue, because it would mean he's leaving himself open to questioning about steroids and whatever else by Schilling's defense team.

If you give Barry the choice of taking some insults from guys like Schilling, or of having to testify under oath about their conduct, they'll choose the first option. This is just a legal maneuver to scare off others from talking like Schilling did.

I think it's great. Not only is he going after Schilling, but the lawyers are looking into ALL possible defamation lawsuits. That could make for a long list of legal battles.

Hope he wins so Schilling will realize there are consequences to shooting off at the mouth. But, then again, I don't think I can take another teary-eyed apology from Schilling. I hate to see a grown man cry, especially as much as Schilling cries. Why does he act like a little girl?

I'll believe it when it hits a courtroom. I remeber when he brought that silly, roundabout suit against the Game of Shadows guys and it got thrown out. Remember, the Feds still want him and I highly doubt that he will go under oath with anything that would incriminate him in other matters, part of that includes steroid use. If he was serious he would have gone after the Game of Shadows authors with a more serious suit.

I haven't heard the terms yet, but I'm guessing that it'll either be to another kind of issue dodging purpose or that it will never see a court room.

As soon as he admitted he might have unknowingly used steriods he should have been suspended from baseball. To me that is kind of like unknowingly stabbing your exwife and boyfriend over and over.
But on the other hand all that bulk could be him just getting the middle aged spread.
