I'd say they're negligible, because any suit against Schilling would force Barry onto the stand under oath.

In this case, Schilling's defense team could question Barry as to the accuracy of Schilling's comments, which means Bonds would have to testify about what he did or didn't do when it comes to steroids and/or tax evasion. Bonds would have to come clean - if there's anything to admit - or he'd be perjuring himself.

Bonds has way more to lose in this situation than he does to gain.

He has to prove that Schilling either (1) lied on purpose or (2) recklessly disregarded whether it might be false. I think he has no chance to win this lawsuit. Schilling only has to prove that he had some reasonable belief that his statement was true.

Little to none. The problem with the Defamation charge is that Bonds has to PROVE that Curt INTENTIONALLY said something he KNEW wasn't true. Throws a wrinkle in that one right? It isn't about if it is true or not, it is can Bonds show that Curt KNEW it wasn't.

All due respect, but this whole suit thing is another Bands sham! His realistic chances of winning such a thing are truly slim to none! Frankly, Bonds
is PO'd because basically what Schilling has said is right on the mark and 100% aaccurate!

0%. Have you ever heard Curt Schilling debate something? He doesn't lose an argument, ends up convincing everyone that he is always right, and it would be no different in court, IF they actually do go to court, which would be ridiculous.

I would say that they are very good as Schillings comments were made in more of a soap box, ranting fashion, not in a factual debate.
