The creature from the Black Lagoon was just a fictitious monster in an old movie.
Giant killer squid are far more likely.

He might be thinking of something other than fishing. If you drown out there there is no way to prove foul play and at night there are no witnesses to any struggle. Maybe he a girlfriend. Anyway, follow your instincts. Don't go. I'd have to wonder also why it's so important to him that you go along.

Ever read Stephen King's short story "The Raft"? Well if you think you're afraid of dark water NOW, read that story. It will make you not want to go near water, period :-)
My ex used to go night fishing with is buddies. I never went. I wasn't invited. Maybe that's one reason he's an ex??? Could be :-)

I know the answer to this!! Wear tube socks-no shoes. Seriously, in those episode of Creature from the Black Lagoon, did you EVER see him grab someone who had tube socks on w/ no shoes?

it is never "stupid" to be afraid. if you are uncomfortable with it,don't go. i suggest trying it - i love night fishing,it is peaceful and beautiful - and fish bite better at night usually.
