Well, obviously it depends on the college. If you're applying to MIT it's extremely hard to get in. If you're applying to a community college, all you have to do is pass an entrance exam which isn't really that hard. You're probably talking about something in between that. You can get into a decent school with OK grades and a good essay. Extracurricular activities help your case (especially if you stick with them all through high school). Community service can also be helpful. If you want to go to college, you will be able to, one way, or another. If you want more specific information, go to the college's website and check out their admission requirements.

Not very...I guess it depends on the college. You have to look good- REALLY good- on your transcript and do all these big-deal essays and interviews if you're trying for an Ivy League school, whereas you basically get into community college if you possess $500 per semester and the ability to write your name. Me, I went sort of middle-of-the-road and went to a state university (CU, to be exact. Go Buffs!) You don't have to be a genius to get in- they accept people with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and their application and essay requirements are minimal, at best. Also, that stuff the guidance counselor tries to tell you about how important it is to be in a lot of clubs and activities is strictly crap- don't fall for it. Not one person in my life has ever said, "Oh, I'd love to let you work for me, but I see you weren't on the high school debate team." Please!!!

Depends on the college. Community colleges take everyone, so it's not hard to get into a college.
