Definitely ask your doctor(s) questions like:

1.) What size do you recommend
2.) How much pain and soreness should I expect when I wake
3.) How long will the procedure take
4.) What exactly is done during the procedure
5.) How much swelling/bruising should I expect
6.) What will I be given/advised to use for pain
7.) How long will the drains stay in
8.) What are the risks vs. what are the rewards
9.) How long or how many of these procedures have you done (they won't be offended)
10.) How long will I be in the hospital from beginning to end

Stuff like this will help you become more educated about the procedure and probably make you less nervous. Hope this helps. Good Luck. :-)

All these answers are great. The most important question to ask is if the plastic surgeon is Board Certified. Meaning a Board of Plastic Surgeons has reviewed his application and residency program to make sure he uses up to date techniques. As an ER physician with 2 years of surgical residency under my belt I could do plastics without being certified. Any doctor with a surgical residency of at least two years can perform general surgery and that includes plastics. I don't think you would want a dermatologist who couldn't make it as a surgeon but still completed residency to operate on you.

Ask if you can see before and after pictures of other operations they have done. Ask how many surgeries they have performed, and ask if there are any patients they have that wouldn't mind you contacting them for a recommendation. Also check with your local Better Business Bureau, and Google the doctor's name to see if you find any news stories. You may be able to check your local court website, to see if there is any past or pending litigation against the doctor.

This is an EXCELLENT board to get FAQs, people's experiences, and look at pictures of other women who have had a "boob job". In the FAQ section for augmentations there should be a "questions to ask your PS" take note of them.

Also, please see at least three PS's before deciding on which one to go with.

I went the other way (reduction) and ended up going with my second PS because I liked his attitude better.

BTW if you are in the NOVA area I've got a great recommendation for you.

Please please please research this thoroughly before deciding on if you want to do this, and do not go bigger than a C cup or else you will be asking for back pain (speaking from experience here!).

Ask about what the average recovery time is for a woman who has just had breast enlargement surgery, how the doctor will be inserting the implants (ask what kind of incision he will be making and where), what kind of implants he will be using, if he thinks that the size you have in mind is plausible or healthy for you, and if there will be any scarring.

don't forget to ask how long they last, if you will ever need to have them re-done. what happens if there is a complication - like leaking or if they burst, what will they be like when you are 60? will they need to be removed? if you are unhappy with the size can they be adjusted? what if you want to have children (if you don't already)? write your questions down as you think of them and ask a lot of questions. don't let the doctor intimidate you into something you don't want or are not sure of.

Mariel Hemingway got a boob job and it exploded so she had it redone and now her boobs are smaller. If you want bigger boobs there are natural ways to go about it. The more milk and cream you eat the fat will naturally go to your boobs. It worked for me. Now they are too big.

don't do it

all sizes are sexy, really

I really think that, and I do watch and notice them, often

if you think they are not getting enough attention, just expose em a little more
