I hate to tell you this but Lady Lake and the surrounding area is not known for fun and interesting places to go or things to do.
There are a few golf courses but that's about it.
My aunt and uncle used to live there and it's nice and quiet but not fun. If you've never been there before, you'll see what I mean when you get there.

It's god-awful hot in Lady Lake in summer. I suggest something that involves water, either ocean, gulf, or one of the nearby natural springs, like Silver Springs or Juniper Springs. A scenic drive thru Ocala's horse country might be interesting. Lakeland Vineyard is nearby with free tastings and tours. For racing and automotive buffs, there is "Don Garlett's World Famous Drag Racing Museum." When in the area, I often enjoy casual food and live Carribean music at Gator Joe's, between Lady Lake and Ocala. It is on a lake and you can use the sandy beach to swim from. It's fairly close to Orlando, if you want to catch a dinner show or visit a theme park. Have fun, but stay in the shade even if it means walking the long way around.

I live north of Gainesville, in an area that has a lot of spring fed rivers........people from around the world come to a place near here called Ginnie Springs, which offers cave diving, and, for the untrained, a lot of canoeing and tubing. But, it is about a 2 hour drive from Lady Lake up here. (I'm a half hour north of Gainesville, about 2 hours north of Lady Lake). From that area, I think I'd wander east, go to St Augustine (historical stuff), and take in Anastasia State Park. Also, as you work your way down the coast on A1A, you've got Ormond Beach, Crescent Beach, St Augustine Bch, and eventually you could get as far down as Daytona....all within about an hour and a half from Lady Lake.

You can go to The Villages and look at all the golf carts. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you!
