I started liking this guy a little over a year ago and then 15 days later I had to move across the country. We emailed for a long time and I absolutely know that he liked me as at least a friend. We sent extremely long emails and he gave me advice, and when I told him I was having trouble making friends, he told me that no matter how many friends I have in Maine I will always have him in California. He suddenly stopped replying to me a few months ago. I don't even know why and I'm afraid to ask him. So:
1) Since he apparently decided I am boring and/or obnoxious (since he now ignores me) should I even still tell him?
2) How do I tell him without shocking him?
I am certain that I love him and I'm desperate to get this off my chest. BTW I met him on a church backpacking trip and realized I liked him four days later.

What do you have to lose? E-mail him and tell him how you feel. I wonder though if he may have met a girl and now is dating, that might be why he stopped e-mailing you.
You might ask him in another e-mail first..
