Yes. I won't go into the details, but it hurts very much when you think you have a good friend and suddenly they stop returning your calls, looking at you and just treating you like you are a complete stranger. They won't talk about it, so I never know if I did something or if they just need the stick removed from their butt!

I just go on with my life. I try to smile when I see them. Especially if it happens at work, which it did the last time. A couple of years went by and this lady got married and became a really nice person again. The trouble is, I walk on egg shells because I can never trust someone who won't communicate with me about our problems. I just like not having the tension around anymore.

I highly appreciate the great answers made by our friend, Polly. They are truly correct and point blankly a frank advice. I would say that these are the people whom you think most and will always share their valued and utmost time when a person is in despair and lowly. However, in the instance case you presented what you need is time and space. Dealing with these people requires a heavy decision on your part because so much attachment and bonding have been built within you. Detachment from them will be a bad signal. Let's face it considering the bondage of friendship you have created and tied for a long time is truly a big factor. I truly believe that a serious and open-hearted communication plays a vital and pertinent role in this situation. Why not have a good discourse and outright honest to goodness conversations with them. Being their true friends, they will listen and open their hearts too. And i think this is not a far-fetched idea not for them to succumb on your big request. You are all matured and responsible people i supposed. Then i don't see any problem you will triumph in this ordeal. Good luck my friend.

My best friend cut me off for no reason when she started seeing this guy she has known and been with before for about five or six years, now she don't talk to me unless I call her and she always has something to do or somewhere to go...thing is, she has a cell phone and she talks to people when she is driving but not me. I don't understand why a best friend of 10 or so years just cut me off like that. I don't understand.

YES. My son's father walked out on us when our baby was only 3 days old. He said he was going back to his ex wife, but then later on he told me I could never know the real reason he had to leave me. Never gave me any more explanation than that. I figured it all out though, he was mixed up in the mob.

yes and to this day i'm still curious and it does still hurt a little. now.... i have also done this to quite a few people. the reason that i don't explain to them is because i know that i don't want any confrontation sometimes to ''explain'' would make the situation worse. sometimes there is a third party involved so i just drop out of the equasion.........

Yes, it's happened to me. They have done it to other family members as well. I don't care if I ever find out why, I'm just upset that they hurt my parents. It's still hard for me, with time it gets easier to deal with.

Yes and I've done it myself for good reason, maybe not to them,
but to me it was justified.

Some people just can't see the forest through the trees including me! There is always a reason, you just maybe can't really understand it by they way it played it's self out ;-)
