I can tell you, I had to learn to drive on a full sized conversion van back when I was 16, which was in the 1990 timeframe. It was very difficult to learn on. It pretty much felt like I was driving down the middle of the road, and to a certain extent, you are. You also cant turn corners as tight, etc. Also, if your state has an obstacle course, like Ohio does, for taking the drivers test, that would be incredibly difficult in a large van as well. If you have the cash, it might be very well worth it. The one good thing I can say about learning in a full sized van is that they are the safest things on the road. If you get hit by another car, there is a ton of crumple room, which really helps protect you.

That is kind of up to you, I had a little girl who learned to ride a 27 bike standing up( to short to reach the seat). Similarity here yes, You can learn on any size car or Van or SUV and you will learn to judge by the size of a vehicle you will be practicing in. The rest is up to your Parents and you if you have any disagreement, go according to their decision. Be a safe diver, Best wishes

Well on the one hand if you learn to drive big it's always easier to step down to small later. On the other, it's always nice to get another big vehicle off the road.

My main advice would be to learn to drive on a stick-shift. That way you'll always have that skill. Moving from a stick to an automatic is, again, much easier than going the other way.

Learn with the van because then anything else you decide to drive will be easy. Vans are pretty neat because they teach you how to use your mirrors.

No, especially if you are going to drive a lot. Vans require a lot of fuel.
