If someone tripped over right infont of you? I'm a nurse and I like to think I'm quite compassionate......but I just can't help laughing when that happens!

It's a natural response, one reason why slap stick comedy was effective. When I see it in real life, it depends on the funny factor. A 90 YO with a walker, zero funny factor. A physically fit, overconfident 22 yo young man walking out of GNC with a bagload of bee pollen, vitamins, and other essentials that spill all over the mall floor, and knocking over his equally insipid girlfriend, that's a 10.

Hahaha. Oh my gosh, that happened yesterday at work. I was standing behind the register, and these two customers were walking up, we have carpet, and all of a sudden he trips and falls all the way down to the floor. Hahaha. I was trying not to laugh, but then he got up and walked off like nothing even happened which made it even funnier. It was so funny, and then someone else tripped in the same spot minutes later but they didn't fall.

Ask if they're okay and give them a hand. I can't think of a time when I've laughed at a stranger falling.

I always laugh when I'm nervous.... It makes my daughter so mad ! Of course if someone is seriously hurt I would't laugh.
