Hachinoko is larva of bee.

I'm Japanese, but I've never tried it.
And maybe I'll never try it.

You can eat it at

You can order Hachinoko at https://shop.kabuchan.biz/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10&products_id=96

They can deliver their products to the U.S. address.
(I couldn't find a online store which provides English Page.)

I have tried Hachinoko at Soji-bo, the soba noodle restaurant chain.

Hachinoko varies. Some Izakaya serve hachinoko as "a larva of a bee or yellow jacket", and others may serve as a Tsukudani of "a small bee".
Tsukudani is something simmered in soy sauce and mirin.

The one I ate was the latter one and was very sweet.
