I had an old guy friend once e-mail me and he said this... "By talking to you, I'm lowering my standards". What does that mean? I don't know what it means, so if you could help me it would be great!!!

My guy friend was 6 years younger than me if that helps. I almost thought him and I could have been soulmates. We had lots in common, the #7 appeared in our lives many times too. A lady I knew from work set me up with her younger brother. We never got the chance to meet. We became good friends and spoke on the phone a lot. He lives in a different state than I do. Were no longer friends anymore because of reasons unknown. He had told me had Social Anxiety Disorder, Depression & Bipolar later on in the friendship. I think his disorders is what got in the way of our friendship. I can't really relate to his problems either.

what he probably means is this;
and he's been kinda cruel with this too, but coming form a male perspectic,

he feels that you were not the kinda of women he would usually talk with. And when he say " Standards" he means the kind of women he finds interesting.
Now as curler as that may sound, it's an reality in most guys. Just move on sista, because if you are not good enough for him, then he probably can't handle you and what you have to offer him.

Here's the translation:

"I don't have anyone I really think is worthy of my conversation in my life at the moment, but I am bored and you are the only person who's email address I have.

"If only I could speak to someone as great as me I wouldn't have to waste my time talking to you, you worthless piece of do-do"

This man is not your friend. He is not even someone to whom you should speak. He is the worst kind of nasty, selfish, egocentric moron that should be locked in a dark room and left there.

I'm sure his mother told him he was "special"!

This is not to be offensive but I believe he means that you are too good for him to be involved in a relationship. I could not comprehend it better due to his medical situation.

Basically, he is saying he thinks you are not "worthy" of his time and conversation, but you'll do until someone "better" comes along. You are being insulted. He is a jerk. Don't waste any more of your valuable time on him.

He was being mean, he said he is lowering himself, to talk to you, as in hes too good to talk to you.

The jerk is basically telling you that he is too good for you or better than you - tell him to kiss off, you don't need him!
