how do i get my driveshaft off the tranny on a 2000 chevy silverado 1500 4x4, auto trans.

disconnect u joint that holds it to rear end may use pry bar to pry out watch that caps dont pop off houses needle bearings

Do what Jim P said. And while you are at Auto Zone buying a new U-joint because you didn't put tape around it, spend the $15 for the Haynes manual. When you get to the point in life where you are removing your own driveshafts, and relying on the advice of others....you should have a book with pictures. A picture is worth a thousand words. (and sometimes well worth the $15)

You should have bolts connecting it to the rearend, just get those bolts off and it should slide out of the tranny.

last time I saw this

take one u joint apart and slide spline out of transmission.
