Matt Damon, Leonardo Di Caprio, Johnny Depp and Denzil Washington?
They are all fantastic - the best of the modern era in my view:
Damon: in Bourne Identity - masterpiece
Johnny Depp:in Donnie Brasco and Edward Scissorhands - breathtaking
Di Caprio: as Howard Hughes in The Aviator - Oscar winning stuff
Denzil Washington: take your pick! Training Day, Hurricane etc - he is a different league and so unique.
So, who's the best?

Oh and I forgot to add in: Sean Penn!
In: 'Dead Man Walking' and 'The assasination of Richard Nixon'. Such incredibly powerful performances. In both films he is a 'tour de force'

How did you forget Sean Penn!!!!!!
Sean Penn is AMAZING!!!!! I thought he wasn't that good for many years and I saw him in Carlitos Way which I hated him in but I soon realised its wasn't him as an actor, it was him as a character!!!

Johnny Depp I think is amazing too, lots of ladies love him but I really think he is probably THE most versatile actor of our time........POC, From Hell! Mr Wonka, Edward! Donnie Brasco!!!! Need I go on?!!!
The others are okay but do not give me a wow factor when I see their movies.

(Denzil Washington plays similar roles all the time, Di Caprio can't act at all and I'm not even sure who Matt Damon is)

I think Johnny Depp, not only is he gorgeous but he is just an incredible actor!
He was sooo good in Pirates of the Caribbean & in From Hell, WoW, I thought he was outstanding!
Edward Scissorhands is such an amazing film, he was just so sweet in that!
I also think Leo Di Caprio is an amazing actor, he has a softness about him thats mesmerizing.

Johnny Depp without a doubt. Denzel Washington was amazing in Man on Fire tho. Leonardo Dicaprio is just good eye candy!

johnny depp, my favourite films with him are "whats eating gilbert grape"? from hell, the ninth gate, secret window, edward scissorhands, pirates of the caribbean, etc; the worst ever film role for him had to be willy wonka!!! as for matt damon he has played well in the talented mr rigby and the bourne trilogy , i also enjoyed him in dogma, leonardo dicaprio in the beach, titanic and the aviator and denzil washington in the bone collector with angelina jolie, his portrayal of a paralysed man was outstanding and he was very good in the pelican brief, johnny is definately my favourite though!!

out of that lot Jonny Depp is the most versatile as he's played the whole range of characters in films. from action/thriller in Nick Of Time to comedy Fear and Loathing and Pirates to troubled Edward Scissorhands to gangster in Donnie Brasco to coming of age in Whats Eating Gilbert Grape.
Basically he's been in some of the greatest films ever made.has he won an Oscar?
