When I visited the Philippines last year... I heard on one of Metro Manila's radio stations a phone in program where listeners voted on either Elvis or The Beatles for the GREAT rock&rollers of all time.
Can I put this same question to you ?
Me ? The Beatles.... HANDS DOWN !!!
They were performers with no equal , revolutionary music still to be matched today, great composers equivalent to many of classic composers of yester year, The Beatles really took the world by STROM. So it is the Beatles for me.
Please give us your votes and please add comment in support of your voting. Please try not to be influenced by the current 30th anniversary of Elvis' death. Thank you all.

John Lennon's voice COPIED by numerous singers ( Robby Williams and also by that idiot in Oasis) --- Paul's voice never equaled !!! --- Harrison's guitar virtuoso and beauty.... no one around. The four came out with THE LP OF THE CENTURY ... Not of the last 20 or 30 years but OF THE CENTURY. The world voted for them. Sorry but the Beatles have to be the winners.

THE BEATLES WON....
Just as I thought (and had hoped). I will chose the "winner" based on the reasons why he/she voted for them.

Beatles by far!
Elvis was a performer, the Beatles were artists.

I think i'd have to say the Beatles,it's a very, very close race. The only reason the Beatles come out ahead is because of what they did apart from one another,as solo artist, thats when they really shinned. And at that point were able to compete with Elvis on a level playing field. But I love them
all as I was a teen of the 60's.
I believe it to be the decade of the century!!!!!!!!

To pick from the 2 I would go with the Beatles as they started out a pop teen idols only to become some of the greatest innovators in music in the past 50 years. Sorry Elvis fans, I always felt that his music and his importance was greatly overrated.

Wow...this debate has gone on in my life for years, first with my parents and now with my spouse!!
I am a die hard Elvis fanatic...not that I don't love the Beatles also but something about the King just grabs me! That gravely voice, the suave yet boyish glam attitude.
I so have to vote for Elvis! :)

I love the Beatles. Although I never change the radio station when Elvis is on either. There's just something about a hunk-a-hunk-a burnin' love.

Ultimately, Elvis had a better voice than any of the Beatles. Even so, I didn't think he reached his full potential, mainly due to the corrupt people surrounding him.

I find the Beatles far too over-rated. Their music is/was no better than any other music either then or now. I don't deny their obvious talent but it was not so much to call their music revolutionary.
However, I always have and always will sit firmly in camp Elvis.
