I got the divorce petition ready myself last week and he picked it up off the porch last Thursday. I asked him to file and pay for the entire thing since he is the one who cheated and left. I called the courts this afternoon to see if the *** has filed yet. They have no record of it being filed. So I am re-doing the papers and filing it myself on Monday. There are no attorneys, assets, or children involved. I need closure and I am not taking a cheating husband back. I need to move on with my life. My question: If he was so excited when I told him I had the papers ready to be picked up then why hasn't he gone down and filed? Time? Money? or him being a lazy loser?

I think you are doing the right thing because every body deserves happiness and you are one of them. so don't sit back and blame yourself for the mistakes that he made. yea true every body go out and make mistakes cusz we are all human but in the same sense let him go cus he don't care about you and your feelings so there for go head and do what's right cuz it is not you it is him.....

You gave very few details. From what I can tell you are hurt, yet strong. Go girl! this is the best attitude to have at this time. I know it is terribly hard, but at the same time very gratifying in the long run. and you husband is sitting out there somewhere having second thoughts.
I am positive he does since most men stop in great surprise when they realize the wife is happy to let them go. They expect tears and begging and what do you do? You hand him the car keys and wave goodbye with a smile. What an 'man-ego' damaging attitude!

I think Mr. Husband was waiting for you to blink, when he showed his excitement with picking up the petition, but you didn't, so as I write this lines he is probably looking for a ladder to get down from the tree he climbed on.

I wish you the best. Hope you can work this out the best way you like it to be. But remember, life goes on and there are other options out there.

It's his way of controlling you. He doesn't want you to move on with your life. You might also check your credit report since I presume the divorce papers would have all the information needed to get credit cards and other things in your name and use them.

You would have to ask him why not. You are doing the right thing to go file it yourself, he may still have to pay for it. Go for everything you can get out of him.

who cares why he hasnt filed...if theres nothing involved the divorce shouldnt cost that much. gather some money...borrow some money from your best friend and divorce him. he isnt worth another day being married to you.

good luck

Sounds like he's doing the right thing, you want it so bad you flip the bill. I do wonder why he cheats, maybe your attitude has something to do with it.

Because in his "perfect" world, he'd be able to stay living with you AND have sex with whomever he likes on the side.

It could be any of the reasons you listed...but only he knows for sure.

He feels bad about what he did. He is having buyer's remorse. He wants you back, baby.....
