I took clomid for the first time this cycle. I ovulated around day 19. I am due to start my period in 2 more days but I have no symptoms of PMS at all. I always have moderate symptoms like mood swings, cravings, bloating, headaches, sore breasts, etc. They usually start about a week before my period. I do not have a single one of these. I am urinating alot but I am drinking a lot more water and I have a lack of appetite but not a upset stomach. I have also been more tired. My wierdest symptom is that my nipples are extremely sore, not my breasts just my nipples. I have never had this happen before. I have on average a 28 day cycle w/ 30 days being the longest. I am on day 26 now. Are these pregnancy symptoms or side effects from taking Clomid? I don't want to get my hopes up. I took a test yesterday and it was neg. My mom said with both her pregnancies she never got a positive on a urine test no matter how far along she was. Could this happen to me or are tests better now?

I had my temp rise on day 19 so I guess I could have ovulates a day or two before that because my dr said some women are slower to respond to the progesterone in their system after ovulation. I am taking Clomid because I do have a short luteal phase and my dr is trying to correct that by making sure my body knows I am ovulating and then inturn will produce more prog. Also we have been ttc for 14 months now. I do feel in my heart I am pregnant but just so scared of the disappointment by getting my hopes up.

The symptoms you describe could be from pregnancy or PMS.
However, one thing about your post interests me--you say you have a 28 day cycle, why the Clomid?
Also, on the Clomid if you O'd on CD19 then you period won't come til at least 12 days past ovulation which would be day 32 at the earliest. If it comes sooner and you are sure about O'ing on CD19 then you may have a luteal phase defect.

I think it's possible you could be, I am not familiar with clomid but your symptoms sound like they could be pregnancy related. As far as the test, I found with each of my pregnancies I got positives at different times. With my first it wasn't until my period was due, with the 2nd and 3rd it was days before it was due. If you don't have one already get another HPT and try again in a day or two, personally I would be testing everyday but that's just my impatience!! I always think intuition is much stronger than a test, so if you really feel in your heart you are pregnant, chances are you are right. Best of luck!!

You should definitely take a test, as they are very accurate these days!

Although it is true that you may not get a positive via a urine test right away. When my mom was pregnant with my sister, she didn't get a positive until 2 weeks after she missed her period!

tests are much better now, but it jsut could have been too soon to test, so i suggest waiting a few more days and if the period doesn't show up then take another one. BABYDUST for you!
