A group of ministers along with my self were dining in a local restaurant. One of the ministers requested extra lemons for water and the waitress got upset and never brought the lemons. We were upset at the service we were getting from this waitress and we wanted to request a new waitress. When we went to ask for a new waitress ,from the supervisor, we were asked to leave since we were not satisfied the service. We were the only African-American's in the entire restaurant.

All this over lemons ?
the waitstaff screwed up...OK.
the sensible thing to do is ask to speak to the manager:
'' Is there a difficulty in getting some [sliced, I presume]
lemons for the water?"
Asking for a different server is a little over the top, in
my view.

That's right, pull the race card. Run around and scream "I'm a victim, I'm a victim" and expect someone to shower you with money to make you shut up.

Private businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone for almost any reason. In this case the reason was "you don't like the service, you can leave"

That's not racism. It's not good customer service either and maybe the waitress was indeed being racist. But there is nothing in your account that screams "racism."

This is hard to determine. If you had some video showing that you were respectful, polite and treated the waitress and supervisor as human beings rather than serfs, you might have a case.

No offense, but your story sounds a bit contrived. If this did in fact occur, why not take a novel approach. Let the manager and ownership know that you will never again go to their establishment, and that you will tell everyone you know to do the same.

But, I'm guessing this really didn't happen this way.

It ain't that easy. It looks as if you were looking for a deep pocket just for the money. It will be in your best interest to do what the answerer above said. Otherwise you may be looking at either fraud or extortion investigations.

I suggest you 'turn the other cheek' or are you one of those... Wait, you used a hyphenate.

You are one of those blacks, face it you are NOT african and if you are then you are in the wrong country, that thinks they are something more than they are. I suggest you quit thinking everything is about race and try to be part of the world. It's people like you that follow morons like Sharpton and make us all look bad.

Nothing, most likely. You should report them to the BBB and if it was a chain, to their corporate offices, but you generally don't get damages in a lawsuit unless you suffered damages.

Legislation is different in each jurisdiction - city, state, federal, etc. Where are you?
