you may have to push the start button again or clear or something to tell the printer that you fixed the jam.

Go try to check it again,maybe there still a small piece of paper stuck in there. Printers have sensors in their roller.

If you have opened the back and removed the piece of paper and it still says that I would unplug it, wait a min, then plug it back in.

Open it and check to see that a small scrap is not caught somewhere.
Turn it off and then on again.
