I hope these helped and about adopting, please adopt if possible. Millions of animals are put down in the United States each year. Save a life and adopt!

What is better is adopting from the Humane Society or Animal Friends. They have dogs that desperately need a home. They need the money to help save more animals. They also make sure the pet is healthy. Being in a hurry to get your dog from a pet store shows you are not worried about the animal just that you want one and want one now. Visit the adoption place and if they have no un-black small dog breeds at that time, visit weekly or if they can put you on a list as to the type of dog you are looking for that would save you many trips to the place. In the long run, the longer you wait for your dog, the more ready you will be. In the meantime start reading books like puppy pre=school or other training books so you know what to expect and how to handle it.

Any pet you get you should adopt. Adopting saves an animal and gives them a second chance. Dogs are the best kind of pet there is, but if you want a small pet, I've heard rats are the way to go ( I dont have one but I really want one). Everyones says they are social and the best small pets ever. Another pet you could get is a cat. I personally dont like cats much, but you may. But the #1 best pet is a dog. :]

I'd prefer 2 guinea pigs. Don't get 1, because they are very social animals, and they do better with a companion.

YES. you should adopt. Go to a shelter near you, and ask if they have any guinea pigs.

If they don't, go to this link: http://petfinder.com/, and try to adopt a piggie from there. Try to find one that's close to you, so shipping is avoidable.

Tips to remember: Guinea pigs need to have vegetables EVERY DAY for Vitamin C. Don't put Vitamin C drops into the water, it will make the water taste bad and the piggies might not drink, then they'll get dehydrated. For food, you need to get guinea pig pellets with a good supply of Vitamin C. Oxbow food is a very good brand.

C&C cages work best. All of the petstore cages are way too small. You can get the biggest cage there, and it will still probably be too small. You can make your C&C cage at home, and the maximum cost for everything will probably be maybe $40.00.

Guinea pigs need to have hay 24/7. You can get Timothy Hay, that's the hay that I use. My piggies love it.

They also need to have "Floor Time" daily. Let them run around in one room, but you have to baby proof it first. (cover electrical cords, cover tight-squeeze places, etc)

Guinea pigs require alot of care, but if you show them the love and affection they need, they will show it right back.

You may not want a guinea pig, but I'm tellin' you, guinea pigs are WONDERFUL pets and you won't regret it.

Hope I helped!

Well I don't know what you're looking for, but I say adopt one. There are so many pets out there that have no home. If they're lucky they get adopted. So many of them have to be destroyed because there is no place for them. Please be kind and adopt one. Just make sure it's neutered, if not, have it fixed to keep the population down.

How about a dog? Not very original, but a great pet, and good protection. I would get a puppy. My favoriute breed is... probly golden retriever, but it's hard to choose. As for adopting, you should look into it and see what they have in the pound. If they don't have anything you like, try looking in the newspapers.

I would adopt since there and so many unwanted and neglected pets out there.

Check on line maybe GOOGLE to see if there is a free pet/owner questionnaire so you can see want kind of pet fits your personality.

Also check out www.craigslist.org in your area to see if any pet(s) you chose are up for adoption. It is a great site and it is tailored to the area you live in.

Good Luck!

I'd read about the care of the pet you're interested in. I have, many times, been interested in a lizard ans when I read about its care I decided I was not interested in spending so much.

As far as adopting, it is a very individual choice too. Go out and see what is adoptable, and go with your gut feelings after you meet the animals available...

well i think you should get a cat because well they are easy to take care of. if you adopt a cat from some one else i would get it checked out befoe u take it home just to make sure it does not have a cold r anything like that. if you do get a cat you will need to get it dry and wet food . too much dry food can lead to it getting sick. if you do decide to get one here is aa web site you can visit www.cattraining.com . that site helped me alot with my cat like teaching her how to come to you. any way have a great time with your pet. good luck.oh and cats like a little spot of there own areound the house.
