I just read in Essence mag that Jill Scott and her husband Lyzell, whom she wrote a hit song about, are divorcing, so sad, it seems so much harder to stay together when youre a celebrity.

I have that issue also, the woman who did the interview is Terry McMillan the woman who went through a very nasty public divorce with her gay husband, but it was nice to see that Jill wasn't mad at Lyzel, that she understood why the relationship ended...The irony is that she will be in a new Tyler Perry movie called "Why Did I Get Married" playing a woman named Sheila who happens to find out that her husband is cheating and gets a divorce from him only to find love soon after*
*They were married for 12 years and are currently going through a divorce; I based my information about the unreleased movie on the play that came out in 2006

I just heard the news from a friend of mine. If this is indeed true, then my heart goes out to the both of them. It's hard to be married these days. It's even harder when one's a celebrity and the other is not.
