Yes, definitely. My dad is a very intense serious person. He is very rarely funny, but when he is, it is very unexpected. Kind of accidental and very much worth waiting for. His older sister is kind of the same way. She is 84 and is a mouse in the corner. She rarely expresses an opinion, and is rather withdrawn in a group. However, she will out of the blue make a clever funny statement about something that will have you rolling on the floor. She reads and studies alot on a wide variety of subjects. You never know what she will come up with.

They've got to... Maybe they need to feel more comfortable with the person or the group before they loosen up or maybe they have a strange sense of humor.
I'm pretty sarcastic and I certainly don't mean to be funny just smart. I had a boss one time who would belly laugh at my sarcastic comments. At first I thought she was mocking me but she wasn't... she just had a strange sense of humor... :)

Yes, they just need to get around the right people. My best friends husband was Mr Serious before they met and now 7 years later he's one of the funniest guys I know.

Sure. You have to hit the right "chords" to unlock that humor. However, those who find fault in everything have an extremely pessimistic worldview and usually have a difficult time getting through life's foibles.

It is just one those things like beauty, taste...What makes one joke funny to some , does not tickle others
I've noticed that most serious people make dry/ corny jokes...
