the prettiest girls are on tv and that is what women are supposed to look like. why? cant we just be ourselves and not try to be like them?

What I think you are asking and complaining about is really all a series of Catch 22's ....where the media reports on what it believes the Public (i.e. - You, The World) wants, and as a result, the Public (You) go and buy into it, you BUY their publications, you buy their fashions, you read their Fashion and Diet 'SECRETS' ~ and so the silly cycle continues.

The young female of the species runs around with their 'doughnut' of flesh below their skinny too short tops and above their too low slung jeans ~ just about where their tattoos are displayed ~ summer or winter, and often out of sinc with the weather too.

In the 60's the rebellion against school uniforms broke out, 'We don't all wanna look the same,' went up the cry, 'We are individuals.' True, and all these individuals then went into the big world all dressed in denim jeans and denim shirts - all of which were 'blue.'

Actually this world today still sets standards for both men and women far too low. Physical beauty is the easiest standard. Plastic surgery is now at an all time $$ high. I told my wife about a month ago that probably some woman will soon want to be more sexy and balanced by having two DD or bigger breasts added on her back as well as on her front ! Maybe this has already been done? "Marry me !" Ha ha

Seriously, intelligence, morality, and mutual attraction of spiritual values are all higher standards that will certainly increase here in importance.

The spiritual supreme values are love, mercy, ministry, (service) truth, beauty and goodness. Beauty is far more than just physical sex attraction.

We women have set high standards for ourselves. Not the world. We are the ones who decided we want to be beautiful, have children and be power players in a career as well as have a wonderful loving relationship.

We want it all.

Most people realize by now that those women on TV do not always look like that. Anyone could be a size 2 with perfect skin and hair if they had the money to hire someone to help us with all of those things.

The most important thing is happiness and to be yourself...you don't need to TRY to do that. Those women on TV have chosen a career path of being movie stars, singers actresses whatever. You could choose that path as well.

Like there isn't pressure on males either, do you think every guy goes around looking only for those types of woman. Men have pressure to make 6 figures, to drive a Mercedes, and look like George Cloony crossed with Orlando Bloom. On top of that we can never cry, we can never show weakness because we must maintain a strong persona.

You CAN be yourself and find happiness....I am an average looking woman, been told that I am pretty, but I was always amazed at how I could attract so many men by interesting, intelligent conversation, wit and kindness....I did not have to look like a super model....I was always just myself..the men I have met who are ONLY interested in physical attraction were unfaithful, unreliable, sefl centered A---holes anyway! Society is way too focused on appearance and it is the cause of anxiety, anorexia, binge eating, low self esteem in women and depression. Women need to love themselves for who they are on the inside and the outside and forget about what Hollywood has to say. Be true to yourself and love each other no Matter what you look like.
Be positive and hold your heads high because everyone is equal on this planet.
