Sorry to say that the Twilight Series by Maggie Shayne are considered romance books. However, her Vampire series is beginning and her first book will be released in October.

It's definitely about vampires. You have to be in for a lot of romance though too. It takes you on a whirlwind journey of forbidden love because Edward, the main vampire, is falling for the girl who he most wishes to kill. Be prepared for it to turn all your old ideas of vampires around. Stephenie Meyer has changed the way vampires are usually viewed and made it new and interesting for a teenage audience. So long Dracula! Hello Edward Cullen! Be prepared for a lot of laughs, heavy sarcasm, romance, and some intense scenes of action. Have fun!

Actually, you could be any age to read these books.
They were mostly for teenagers, but adults read them too and enjoy them just as much.
Well, you were right though, it is about vampires--and werewolves....
Here is a summary of Twilight:
Trouble was no problem for the very uncoordinated Bella Swan. She never intended to cause trouble, but it always found her. When she moved to Forks, WA to live with her dad, it had definitely found her...big time. Edward Cullen was a part of that trouble. He was definitely a mysterious boy and intrigued Bella. She decided to solve his great and mysterious secrets, and ended up falling for him along the way. But once the secrets were out, she got into more trouble than she ever has gotten herself into and tries to stop it before she hurts Edward or anyone else.

Yes it is about vampires and a vampire and a regular human girl fall in love and a bunch of other vampires come after her!!! It's AWESOME!!!!!!

Its about a family of vampires who are "vegetarians", or don't eat people, only animals. One of them falls in love with a human girl who he is particularly drawn to because of the strong sent of her blood. She also falls in love with him and he must struggle through his physical want and become her protector instead of predator.
