Because, I just don't want to go to all of the trouble of putting it in. Is it okay if I dont put a tampon in? Will anyone be able to notice that I'm having my period? Will it "stop" like it does in the shower?? Thanks soooo much for answering this!!

It may stop by why risk it.. your period doesn't completely stop in water so why risk coming out of the ocean and have blood everywhere..

Don't risk the embarrassment and wear a tampon

Why would it be troublesome putting in a tampon? When swimming, regardless of where you are (pool, lake, ocean), if one has her period, then the best thing is to wear a tampon.

I'm not sure why women are thinking that the period "stops" while bathing. I'm 39 years old, had my period since around age 13-14. My period never stopped in the shower or tub.

NO

You will bleed in the water and all down your leg if you go in the water without a tampon or moon/diva cup!

There are no reliable surveys done comparing shark attacks on women on their period and women not on their period. But you MUST wear a tampon if you are going into the water on your period!

It does NOT stop in water, nor does it slow down. You MUST wear a tampon or moon/diva cup or NO WATER sports!

People WILL know you are on your period.

I don't see the trouble in putting one in, it only takes a few seconds. And I agree, I wouldn't want to have blood running down my legs when I come out of the water.

Your period stops in water but that doesnt mean that when you get out that it may start suddenly. Just wear a tampon to be safe.

If it's really really light then don't worry about the tampon, but if it is a little heavier then use one so you don't get anything on your bathing suit

um.. it should not flow in the water but God help you when you get out. unless you strap a towel to your head while swimming and tuck it around you immediately. lol
