Casper WY No! There is nothing going on there and WY can get very windy. Small time hick town.

Denver CO No! Live about an hour north and I prefer to stay away from there. Denver has no personality and there is nothing to do there.

Rapid City SD Yes! Actually I would love to live in Deadwood or Keystone. Both places are pretty close to Rapid City. In the area there is Mount Rushmore, Badlands, Devils Tower, Wind Caves, Custer State Park, and many places to camp. It is very green there too and not too much humidity.

Cheyenne WY No! Live about 45 minutes south and there is nothing to do there except to see the capitol building, Sierra Trading Post and the brewery. Also, like I said before WY can get very windy and this too is a small hick town.

Lincoln NE No! No! No! Too hot and humid and boring.

Salt Lake City UT No! Have you been here? I have and it sucks. The suburbs aren't much better, trust me. Dry and dirty and I will leave it at that.

Boise ID. I do not have an opinion on this place because I haven't been in a long time. I would definately visit though to see what it is like. The saving grace of Boise ID is that it is close to Yellowstone WY and Jackson Hole WY.

That's all I have to say about that!

Have you considered Juneau or Anchorage AK?

Of those listed, I think I'd choose Salt Lake City. I have relatives in Denver - too big for my tastes. Casper and Cheyenne are too small, not a variety of things to do. Not familiar with Lincoln. Rapid City is too far away from other places that interest me. Boise might be nice. But Salt Lake seems to have a nice mix of outdoor activities, sports teams, arts, decent weather.

Denver Rules! People here are from everywhere in the States and in the world, and we've all come to live here. The culture is laid-back (slower paced that big cities in the east), outdoors-oriented (most folks like to ski, mountain bike, hike, or just enjoy nature in the mountains), into the arts (music, dance, theater, comedy, and art rule the social scene-- first friday of every month all hundreds of art galleries are open for free viewing, often with wine and cheese) and tolerant to diversity (respecting individuality as long as it's not hurting others). There are many colleges and universities. Also, the weather is fabulous with all four seaons but sunny 300+ days a year. (I came from Buffalo and I couldn't be happier!) Check out this site i've found, these two people were asking the same question as you and getting a million people to vote where they should move, and they ended up in Denver. http://dannyandnina.com/

I live about 120 miles south of Salt Lake City and travel there often. It's a pretty decent city. Denver is also a great city.

I do not live in any of these places, but have visited all but Lincoln. I would have to say Salt Lake City due to the proximity of so many outdoor summer and winter sports, as well as the ability too enjoy metro pleasures such as shopping, pro sports etc. Not even to mention the natural beauty of the land scape.
