I hate to admit it but my ears aren't cleaned all the time, ok most of time. I was complaining to my mom that my ear was clogged and she assumed it was sinuses so I assumed, ok that makes sense. So I cleaned my ear and it didn't help, and after I used warm water and a syringe. That didn't help either. I cleaned it again the next day with the syringe and then again. After that my ear was fine. Then, August 14, 2007 I woke up and my ear was throbbing. Everything else was fine on my body EXCEPT my ears. It got worse and my mom said that maybe I hit my eardrum when I used the syringe. I did stick it in too deep but I argued with her that if I busted my eardrum I wouldn've been able to hear at all. I can actually hear better than I did before and I took allergy medicine as soon as my mom said sinuses and I took Tyenol too! Today, it hurts too chew food, swallow and it hurts to talk, spit up mucus making that "cuuu!" sound too. I don't know what it is and my ear hurts. Any help?

Please see your doctor or an ENT doctor for a check up. It could be that you have an ear infection with eustachian tube involvement. An ear infection would explain the throbbing, the hurting to chew and swallow, hurting to talk, etc.

Of course, there is always the chance that you did hurt your eardrum too but it is unlikely if you have not experienced any hearing loss or any bloody drainage.

Please see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.
