A guy that lives behind me has two pit bulls that are NEVER on a leash. This morning one of them came running at me while I was walking my very small dog. I yelled at it to get out of here, and raised my hand like I was going to hit it. The guy started yelling at me to leave his dog alone.
Should I call animal control and have them taken away? There have been several pit bull attacks in my town recently.

By the way. It would be one dead dog if it ever runs at my kids like that.

Call the police to report the guy and get a paper trail started. If you can, get pictures of the guy letting his dogs out without the leash.
I would also call animal control and see if there are any kind of leash laws on the books and see if they can possibly go over there and site him ( give him some sort of warning) about not having the dogs on leashes.
Where I live, all dogs that are pit bulls are supposed to have a muzzle on when they are being walked.
Good luck with this JERK!!!!!! You need it!!!!

Don't hesitate to call animal control. I saw many "good" pit bulls turn on people, even the best people, good breeders who claimed their dogs were not the same. I saw a young boy get chewed up by the family pet pit bull and the child never once tried hurting the dog.
They are a ruined species, brought on by generations of breeding the dogs that were showing the best signs of violent acts. It is genetic flaws today and they should be exterminated.

yes by all means call the police, and more than likely your town has a leash law.
