1 - Limbaugh has a voice and a temperament that works on radio.
2 - The program is fast paced, sometimes funny, sometimes entertaining.
3 - The program agenda is something fans want to listen to, even people who hate him want to listen to it.
4 - The items presented on the program are factual.
5 - The opinions presented on the program are usually insightful, though they are opinions and may end up being wrong.

Interesting...an objective assessment still merits in some lib's mind the thumbs down. It can't be because they think it's wrong, because it is right. Guess the thumbs down comes because they don't like hearing it.

Liberals are more likely than conservatives to go out and protest. But that doesn't mean they are any less dedicated to they believe. If anything they are more dedicated than liberals to their beliefs because they have supported their beliefs longer.

Rush hammers liberal ideas and supports conservative ideas in ways that are logical. The TV news doesn't openly express opinions on subjects. Rush does and many conservatives revere his opinions as much as liberals revere Bill Clinton.

Rush was alone being a conservative talk show host for a long time and he developed a large audience of conservatives. And by definition conservatives don't just change for the sake of change.

Do conservatives go along with everything he says? No. But they agree with a lot of what he says. So they keep listening to him. Now liberals are of the opinion that because his audience stays large conservative believe everything he says. Conservatives can disagree on things as long as they agree on the majority. Liberals seem to be willing to dump someone if they offend or insult the cause du jour.

This whole answer is just my opinion based on observations.

His success stems from a cultural problem in this country, that being the inability of many individuals to think critically and exercise free will and independent thought. So, the thinkers among us tune in to Rush and support his Christian based conservatism.
Guess who is in the majority in this country.

If narrow minded hatemonger liberals would listen to him, he would be even more successful.
He discusses the issues with humor and insight. Most talk show hosts are serious all the time and don't know how to crack a joke.
It is great that the liberals show their true character when discussing him, they are envious, hateful, narrow minded idiots.

actually he was funny when he first started doing talk. then he started taking his dribble seriously. he is where he is in ratings because of the number of outlets owned by the media giant that owns him. it is the mc donalds business model...take a marginal product, make it available everywhere, brand it and with time it will develop it's own mass following. it is financially beneficial to broadcast the same programing over every station one owns rather than offer variety. his audience is smaller than the audience for country music stations, but if you're solely talking talk...he is at the top.

Because about 50% of the people out here agree with him. It is amazing to me how the mainstream media has made it appear that we do not exist. Seems like the last two Presidential elections and all the red states would make a difference. Well, at least we got the internet, talk radio, and local cafe's, etc., and Rush.

Take note of the majority of those in the top 5 radio talk shows, they are all conservative in nature. Do you think that maybe there is a reason why?

Fact is that Rush is very entertaining. I listened to Air America for as long as I could, about 2 weeks, the same as I do Rush. Air America was simply not entertaining. You get tired of listening to someone constantly point out negative things and/or condemn things that you think are actually good. I don't watch network news for exactly the same reason.

Hank, you need to work on that spelling. Fearless is one word. It's not dribble, it's drivel. "Dribble" is what you do with a basketball. And finally, lullabye has an "e" on the end.

The success in the GOP and conservative efforts to dumb down Americans has made him successful. He's also part of that same effort. It just goes to show you that there are alot of naive, shallow and gullible people in this country who want easy answers so they don't have to think too deeply, critically or clearly on the issues.
