some of them, you actually have to have somebody with a diagnostic computer turn them off.

The light. when it comes on also issues an error code just as the first poster said. In some cars you can read the SEL CODE by watching various lights blinking in sequence or combination. But most cars will have to be read. If you have a store near you like Pep Girls, Autozone etc.. They have a hand held unit like a large calculator that will read the error code and tell you what part(s) have showed an error or failure

You will need a scan tool to erase the code and reset the light. There are a number of places that will do this at no charge. AutoZone parts stores will do it at no charge. I know AAMCO transmissions advertizes that it will check the code for free but I'm not sure they will push the 'clear' button without charge. AutoZone will.

there is no manual procedure to clear the code; a scan tool must be used. fortunately generic scan tools will do the trick so you don't need to go to a Hyundai dealer to have it done.
if you have a good relationship with any local mechanic they will most likely clear the code for you at no charge.

hope that helps
