I have a bottle of Flintstones vitamins, and I stopped taking them for a while, and I just opened them and the vitamins all have little black specks on them. Is that a mineral oxidizing- iron, magnesium, zinc...?

It's OK. The iron in them is oxidizing from being exposed to air and humidity. It normally happens when you get near the end of the bottle and have removed the cotton from the bottle. The cotton is there to help absorb the humidity and keep some of the air from reaching them. That same iron can also make your stool black, but won't harm you in any way.

I'm no chemist but the vitamin C oxidizes. I I once used a face cream with Vitamin C and any trace on the outside of the jar turned brownish. I think self-tanners work off the same principal

A bit off topic, but if you are an adult I would recommend taking an adult vitamin like One-a-day or Centrum
