probably but he's rich enough to not care too much about it.

Plus he hasn't really needed to drive much in the past 6 or 7 years anyway.

to answer the question. yes I think he knows, but I do not think he cares from a point of view of being compassionate on how it impacts the ordinary american family. After all, after years of high gas prices under his regime where he said nothing at all, his first public commentary on high gas prices was to blame americans for being addicted to oil. Now the bush supporters in a discussion like this will playe the free enterprise card, or the states rights card, but there is no doubt at all that gas prices have risen drastically since January 2001, and that the policies of Bush have caused that to happen. It is irrefutable that his policies have caused higher gas prices...not just "the market".

He doesn't buy gas. He probably hasn't personally had to buy it in decades. He may glance at the price as his limmo passes a station but probably doesn't pay much attention. Do you look at every gasoline filling station along your route somewhere? Unless you're low on gas you probably don't. If you do you need to keep your eyes on the road and not look around so much. Most of what Dubya has was purchased for him by someone else. Mostly for security reasons and because people who are wealthy hire people to take care of stuff like that for them. It is no big deal.

The longer he can keep Gore in the air the better off Bush's party is.

You better damn well bet he knows how much the price of gasoline is!

I paid $2.75 a gallon yesterday.

Unlike Bush, who is so clueless about what high gas prices are doing to my business. As has been said already, he's out of the loop when it comes to what the American public has to pay for anything, or how close so many middle class Americans are on the verge of bankruptcy.

only from the "post it" note someone gave him. People like Bush don't look at prices before they buy. They are NOT average Americans.

One of the requirements of being a Republican is that you have to believe that those "born" into wealth got where they are by working hard.

Yes, I think he has a ticker on his desk that keeps him informed. He gets a cut from each gallon so he probably wants to keep track of his windfall.

He is the child of an oil made man, and propped up by oil money. You bet he knows how oil products are doing.

He's probably more cognizant of the price of a barrel of oil, which is much more important to the President.
