This superstition applies to women.After washing your hair,when you wrap it in a towel,make sure some hair in front is showing out from the towel. Don't wrap your head completely or else,you will bcum a widow.

There are many superstitions about hair in India. The following are a few -
- Women/Girls should tie their hair and should not leave it opened as it is believed bad. In Mahabharata Draupadi did not tie the hair after disrobing her and it lead to destruction of the entire clan.
-if you and your sibling wash hair at the same time, it will create fights in the family.
-Most of the Sikhs even today have uncut hair and gather it in a turban. Sikhs also do not shave their beard.
-not to cut your hair on Tuesdays and Saturdays; Not to have hair cut in the evenings; Not to cut hair in the house and only in Hair cutting saloons it should be cut. Should wash hair and take bath after hair-cutting.
-People pray to Gods to give their hair in prayer of some thing. Even ladies of some caste remove their hair. For children it is customary to remove the hair at the temples.
- Widows of many caste are supposed to remove their hair after husband's death and remain hairless for the rest of their life.
- Brahamin men are supposed to keep a "tuft" only shaving all the balance hair.
- It is believed that ladies hair will grow further by trimming the hair on the growing phase of moon i.e. after Amavasya (New Moon Day) will -

If you get bald from the front you have alot of money.
If you have alot of hair tightly wound at the crown of your head you are lucky.
If you have a 'tail' on the back you are really smart it is called pandit.

I believe that men of the Sikh religion do not cut their hair. That's why they wear turbans.
