Ok, I know this question has been asked alot, but today when I was driving my mom's car home, it was raining and I tried to make a left into my street (I was going about 15-20 mph) and my car spun out and hit a curb even though I applied the brakes. The car shakes now when I go over 40 and my parents are going to be pissed. How much money am I looking at to be spending to fix this?

Told my dad, he's pissed but oh well, it's better to tell them than have anyone else drive it without knowing

I also HAVE to drive it to work tomorrow, I have no other way of getting there, and I have to drive on the parkway since it's the only way to get to work, is the car good enough to make it? All it does is shake a little, it drives smooth

Unless you bent an axle it's most likely a problem with wheel alignment or balance. Take it to a tire shop and they should be able to diagnose the problem. Wheel balancing costs about $10 per tire and an alignment can be from $50-90 depending on the car and the severity of the problem.

The wheel is probably bent. Since you hit a curb at a low to moderate speed this should be the first place to look. If you think it's a suspension problem then go to the local alignment shop, but be aware they love to repair.

It could be anything from a bent rim or a wheel out of balance, to damage to the suspension components. The only way to know is to take it to a qualified wheel and suspension shop and have it looked at. It might be $50, it might be $500.

Next time, slow down in the rain. In fact, just slow down all the time.

Take it to a repair shop that can check the balance on the tires and check the alignment. If they do both should be somewhere around 100-150 depends on where you live.

Sounds like your allignment is off, if you're licky. If not, you've bent a tie rod or something major.

One is a fairly easy fix for $100. The other is $$$

You probably have knocked the front end or one of the tires out of alignment. You need to hit the shop quickly or you will ruin your tires.

Depends on what exactly happened. Better to fess up NOW then fess up AFTER a serious accident caused by a simple fix.
