Because those minorities are just as racist in their views as they claim whites are.

For the same stupid reason why many whites think that "affirmative action" gives every minority some kind of advantage. In the entire time I've been working and trying to make a better life for myself and my loved ones, affirmative action never did a damn thing for me. The color of my skin was neither an advantage or a disadvantage. Although there were times that if I'd been a WOMAN, OTOH, that would've probably helped me a lot more.

The majority generally feel that everyone is treated equally while the minorities generally feel that they hafta work extra hard to be recognized. Fact of life? In decision making, votes are more inclined towards the majority. The majority make decisions which in turn affects everyone. Yes u worked hard. But try working as hard when u're the minority...

Open your eyes to those affected. You get pissed simply because you're comparing yourself to lazy asses? Nothing comes easy. You gotta work your *** off for it. A minority with your credentials would have a gd chance of being discriminated. They have to overcome additional obstacles u will never realize. Discrimination exists whether u accept it or not...

Because it hurts the case of an individual who is a member of a minority and trying to use that as a crutch for them to admit whites don't just get everything handed to them because they're white and not because of their hard work and merits. I don't listen to people who play the race card because I'm white and I've worked my butt off every day for everything I own, and I work alongside many different minorities at the same time. It's not like the job I have came because I'm white.

And if you want to tell me I don't know what it feels like to be discriminated against, then walk a mile in my shoes.

Discrimination in all forms, when it is unjustified, is the worst thing on the planet.

Nothing has been given to me (im afro american) however I know for a fact that I get paid less to do the same jobs. I am very skilled and college educated. I clearly see people (not just white) with my skills supporting their whole families comfortably. I am also in a male dominated field.

Same, my parents work hard to get what we have. I work hard to make my money, well if working at H&M is hard. But seriously, like the guy above me, it is a white-dominated world, which is unfortunate, but it is the case. Look at Africa, or recently, Dubai, where Arabs discriminate against Arabs in favour of the Europeans or North Americans

Jen, I am not white, but I understand where this is coming from. Please don't think that we don't appreciate what each 'race' contributes to the greater good of humanity. Like you mentioned, it is only some who choose to be racists, from their respective race's 'accepted norms' of human nature and behaviour.

At the end of the day, what matters is how each one of us has been to another human being, and what one has done to make this world a more habitable one for those at least in her or his immediate vicinity.

You're over-generalizing. I'm a minority woman and i know many white people who have far less than i have. I also know many who were born into privelege and have more wealth and opportunities than most. It's not the point of what ANYONE has or doesn't have....it's whether or not they're still willing to work and contribute to society WITHOUT flaunting it.

lol@the thumbs down.

Its not a material thing its something called White Priviledge. White privlidge is that unspoken word that most white people are lucky enough to have for instance. When interviewing for a job, a white man ot a black man, same qualifications, same education same interview, the white man is more likely to be hired. When walking into a store, a black man is more likely to be floowed that a white man. It has nothing to do with material objects. Just think about it, how many times has this happened to you.

Because they feel they have nothing?

If one were prone to Conspiracy Theories, one might even come to the conclusion that Race is being used to divide the poor and the middle class against themselves...
