Does anyone know how the prics/cost is calculated? where do they get these numbers from?

I generally get the cost from the right-hand side of the restaurant menu or on the store selves, just below the item I'm buying. [That's the question you asked.]

Now, if you want how the business gets the cost to charge you for these items, ask a better question.

At a restaurant the computer system keeps track of what is sold. The manager does inventory and compares the results. Usually there is some missing so that would be the food cost.
