Yes you will skip your period. It's not bad to do this, that's basically all that the Seasonal birth control pill does.

It's fine. I was at this same point in my cycle when my wedding and honeymoon came around, and my doc told me to skip the off week on my pills and start a new pack to skip my period. Worked great! Take some supplies along just in case, though.

Even if you try skipping it most likely you will get your period, or some spotting, as it is too close to try to trick your body.

Just take some tampons with you.

BTW I skipped a period doing that one time and I will never do it again. You could end up having your period, it could be very painful and heavy, you could have breakthrough bleeding, and it could take months for your cycle to get back to normal again.

I would not do this.

I also do not recommend depo for ANYONE. Google "depo provera lawsuit" and check out its reviews on http://www.rateitall.com . A majority of women have horrible health issues because of the shot. I was on it for four years and hated it and I'm so glad I'm OFF of it. You could also bleed for MONTHS on the shot.

Check the directions included with your pills and check out the company's website.

I don't use BC pills, but I don't think taking the pills during you "scheduled" period will do anything to stop it.

I can definitely commiserate though! I work as an archaeologist and when I'm out in the field all day, having my period is a huge hassle.

Take along plenty of pads and tampons and some of those sanitary wipes that will help you clean up when you can't shower.

Good luck!

No its not bad to do that. You might get a little spotting, but you won't get your period. They have some birth control pills, Seasonale, where you only get your period 4 times a year, so its not at all harmful to skip your period.

You need to double up.

Doubling up should stop your period for about a week. It will be "on hold" till you return to the normal schedule, but you have to take most of it at the beginning of the week, not throughout like normal. This will push your body into suppressing the hormones needed to menstruate.

It's important that you don't have your period while camping, as this will likely attract bear and other wildlife. Fox and coyote are particularly attracted to the blood.

And of course it will continue to work as birth control.

I've done it before and its fine. There was no bleeding and no cramps or pain. It doesnt mess up your hormones. I went to Boston and didnt want it. So I just skipped that week and it was fine. But make sure you have it next month to clean out your body.

No, that will mess up your hormones. The best method of birth control is Depo shots. MOST do not have a period and it is very effective in birth control.

Talk with your family doctor about what is right for you. Depo is good, but not for everyone.

Not good to mess with the cycle. Should just deal with your friend on the camping trip.
