Flies cause maggots. A maggot is the larval stage of a fly. Flies that eat the dead animals lay their eggs at the same time so that their young(the maggots) will have something to eat. The eggs hatch and viola...you have maggots.

Rotting Flesh LOL
Actually, that is true. As flesh rots, a fly called the "Lava Fly" feeds on the rotting flesh and lays it's eggs inside. As the eggs hatch, the maggots (the baby flies) also feed on the rotting flesh before maturing and becoming flies themselves.

maggots are the larve of insects. flys and such land on the dead animal and lay their eggs. these eggs hatch into the larve (maggots) which use the decomposing animal as a food source for this stage of their life.

Adult flies lay their eggs on or near the carcasses. Those eggs hatch quickly, and the maggots feed on the carcass.
