You have a Barber dime, which started being minted in 1892. Designed by Mint Engraver Charles Barber, the same obverse appeared on the Dime, Quarter, and Half Dollar. The value depends on where it was minted and the condition, and the coin is worth as follows:

Type Good
1898 $5
1898-O $16
1898-S $12

Type Fine
1898 $8
1898-O $90
1898-S $26

Type Extra Fine
1898 $30
1898-O $210
1898-S $85

First of all check to see if has a mint mark it is located on the reverse (wreath side) at the bottom of the coin. The mint mark if any plus the grade determine value. This was already explained to you by others here. A grade of good- heavily worn, date an legends visible but faint, liberty on head band worn away. in grade very good the coin is still well worn but 3 letters in liberty show. In grade fine- there is more detail to the coin and all letters of liberty show some may be weak but must be there. If the coin is better than the above grades see a coin dealer or two. The 1898 without a mint mark has a value of $1.80 in good, $2 in very good and $5.50 in fine, the 1898-O values in the same grades are $9.50,$20.00 & $65. The 1898-S values in the same grades is $6,$11 & $24. This should at least help you out some. The values given are about what a dealer would pay.

You will need to grade the coin... If you can read the word liberty on her head band than the coin is fine or better. Most likely your dime will not be of that high quality, and we would purchase it for a three dollars. If you can read liberty, then it may be worth much more.

Also, look on the reverse (Back) of the coin. If you see a small letter S (Sanfran) or a D (Denver) it will change the value as you can see in the above post.

To put it simply, your collection is worth whatever someone will give you for it. There is some lower limit, just because there are precious metals involved. Gold is currently worth $950/troy ounce. Your 5 dollar gold piece is worth over $100 just for the gold content. Hint: gold prices are expected to continue to rise due to inflation. Your "silver" coins are not all pure silver. depending on the year and denomination, they may be 90% or even 75% silver. Silver is worth roughly $24/troy ounce. The other things are of interest only to collectors, so I cannot estimate their value. You could look at similar offerings on E-bay or visit a coin shop.

M G gave you some good estimates but the best way to find out the value of your coin is to take it to a coin dealer. So much of value depends on the condition of your coin and things like whether or not the coin has been cleaned (DO NOT CLEAN YOUR COINS). A dealer would be able to grade your coin and give you a more concrete value.
