15% Chance they are alive, 85% chance otherwise, and I live in Price, UT less than a half hour away from that mine and it is kind of a big deal here, as well as in Huntington. As soon as you start going south on Carbon Ave./HWY 10 towards their, almost all the businesses have signs to do with the miners. I hope they are still alive though.

I wish them nothing but the best of luck and hope they make it out alive, but they're chances are not looking very good. You can only live three days without water. In the last few years there have been more and more mining cave-ins. Can't we find a safer way to mine for coal? Or to not mine for coal at all? Some companies have started blowing the tops of mountains off with dynamite to mine for coal and then they push all of the debris and waste into valleys and rivers and cause massive pollution. Coal is dirty, it pollutes the environment and it's a non-renewable energy resources. We should be focusing on moving our country towards clean, renewable energy resources like solar and wind power!

Well last I had heard the search party heard some noise in another part of the mine. Hopefully that is a sign that the 6 men are still alive. If they are then they definitely had an angel watching over them.

I don't think they're alive because I think they would have made some noise by now. But I'm still hoping for the best. It is still possible for them to survive, but the chances are getting slimmer.
It annoys me that they're making such slow progress with the digging.

The reason the rescuers have to dig so far is because the owner collapsed the mine in the area where the victims are instead of leaving an open area to enter!

I'm hoping that they are. Somewhat discouraging that a few officials have seemed to have lost hope. However, they did pick up some strange vibrations. Hopefully they are, and if they aren't, then God be with them and their families in a time of tragedy.

very slim, i think, considering no food or water. Plus the chances of injuries. I really hope they are alive though.

Until you know you MUST keep looking. I come from a mining family and my heart goes out to their loved ones.
