I would suggest you stop taking the pill about 2-3 months before TTC..Also,like the other person said, make sure you discuss your plans on becoming preggo with your doctor and have a pre-conception checkup, just to make sure ahead of time that everything is good to go.
Also,I would start really paying attention to your cycle at that point:start charting as soon as you get your first normal period,ei:Cervical mucus, temps, and other sypmtoms.
Really get to know your body in this time...It' should help speed-up the process of conception:)
Also, try an OPK(ovulation predictor test)in there too,it really helped me concieve my son:)
GOOD LUCK!!

I would wait until next year and then come off the pill. You may be one of those people who conceives immediatley or it may take you a year or two. You are NOT waiting too long. You are doing the right thing. You should wait until you are ready. You should talk to your doctor about it before you go off the pill. That way she/he is aware of your plan also. I am almost 30 and have been married for 5 years. We are not near ready. I hope to have my first one around age 34. Good luck!

You should be fine. I have a friend around 30 that assumed she couldn't because she has been on the pill for so long. She got pregnant two weeks after stopping the pill(as I did also). Chances are if you have trouble it won't be because of the pill, you might have had problems anyway. There is really no way to know until you try.

I would say come off the pill a year before you plan on having a baby, because it takes people sometimes several months to become pregnant if that is all they do is stop taking birth control. If you want to be on the safe side give yourself some extra months to get your cycles normal, and then start trying. Because of your age it may take you longer so you might have to plan for that as well.

If your periods were regular before going on the pill then you will most likely be regualr after stopping it. If you have no reason to suspect infertility, such as PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid disease, pelvic inflamitory disease, hormonal imbalance, or a partner with low sperm count, then you have a good chance of getting pregnant after stopping birth control. As with all things in life, there are no guarantees, but if you are a healthy person with no history of gynocological problems, then in all likelyhood you should conceive. Just be aware that your fertility is declining as the years pass.

Keep taking the pill until two or three months before you want to get pregnant. Talking with your ob and letting them know your plans is probably the best thing for you to do.

If you have had tests and know you are ovulating regularly then all you can do is track your ovulation and make sure you abstain for minimum 3 but no more than 5 days before expected ovulation. This ensures that the sperm is "fresh and healthy" - thats what i was told to do anyway.

i would talk to your obgyn and tell them what your plans are so that they can be able to guide you and let you know what you need to be doing right before you begin trying to conceive.
