I'm at work right now, and ever since I found out I was pregnant I've been so antsy. I don't really do anything right now, its low season and there isn't much to do to keep me busy. I'm ususally on here all the time but I just am so bored! What should I do to pass the time? I'm 20 weeks preggo and I plan to leave work Dec 14th. I'm going to pull my hair out!!!!

LoveMyAngel:

I work in the tourism industry, I started in my position at the beginning of April and there was alot of preporation for the groups arriving in June & July, our busiest months, and now that everything is over, I really have to just sit and wait for some work to come in.

Start researching baby products online. Finding a good travel system and crib took me forever! Of course, you still need to go to the store and actually look at things but research will help you know what to look for and the price range to expect. Set up your registry, a household budget plan, find a packing list for the hospital, etc. Gotta love the internet!

Read up on breastfeeding, cloth vs. disposable diapers, baby names. Or just plan your weekend. Little steps are good too. Even though I'm not planning on having a baby for another three-four years I still read up on that stuff now and again.
Unrelated things you could do: find out about a new band or new music. Go for a walk if you can. Call a friend.

You can try to pick up reading on parenting or anything that interest you. Plus reading stories aloud to your unborn baby is a positive outlook into first stage of baby's upbringing. Try shopping or knitting. There are plenty to do. Take your time to enjoy this moment coz when the baby comes, you wish you have this time..

what are the restrictions? i agree with reading but my mind wanders a lot when i'm like this. The crocheting is cool but I sew and it is soooo fun to make junk! it's easy to hand sew and nothing has to be super sturdy. After all your baby will grow out of it in a quick minute. They sell all kinds of spare fabric pieces and you can cut out your own shirts, pants, etc! it is such a time distracting hobby. Good luck

Check out some excersises you can do while at your desk. Go to fit pregnancy website or buy the magazine. Reading 'The Happiest Baby on the Block' or 'Babywise' will really be helpful for when you have the baby.

I listen to books on tape/cd at work to keep busy. I do data entry. You can rent them for free from the library, when listening you can get through some books you may have never considered before.

haha, i know the feeling. take the time to clean things up around work. your boss will appreciate it too.
if you have a desk area or a cubicle straighten it up and get rid of the things you don't need. if you are planning on going back after the baby, this will help you out!

Ask your boss this question if you want to be a good employee. If you want to waist time go to www.albinoblacksheep.com or my friends site www.eatingglue.com There are sooo many sites out there devoted to eating up idle time.

If you have this much down time, learn to crochet and make a lovely blanket for the new arrival.
