I have built a webset about canon in d by Pachelbel, but~~~
but it's written in Chinese not English.
I have collected more than 170 different pieces of canon in my websit.
Do you think I should build another one written by English?
websit address: http://www.knxj.cn/music

I, too, am a classical muscian... and though there is more beautiful music in the world than any of us will ever have the precious time to hear... I will never tire of this piece. There will always be a first time for someone to discover its magic.... and for those whom it's touched... to revisit. Yes.. absolutely.. an homage to Canon.. in English! Lovely.

I deeply disagree with mamika: Pachebel was a great organist and composer (In addition to the canon, his most well-known works include the Chaconne in F minor, the Toccata in E minor for organ, and the Hexachordum Apollinis, a set of keyboard variations) -here are your three compositions!
The canon has a history, as Pachebel wrote (his only) canon when he was a joung composer. He got such a success with it that he wished he never composed it, because it deafened the rest of his works.
(like today, a singer that gets a "hit" immediately becomes a "star" and nobody never listens to what follows, they just "adore" it because it's sohanso ...)

pachelbel's canon in D is a beautiful piece but it's been hammered in our heads too much thanks to the evil people in the corporate world who have put it in cell phones and alarm clocks every where. can people please choose something else for their wedding! making a website about it when i'm sure there are already millions for it is overkill. and don't even get me started on all the stupid variations of the piece! they added words to it! that is so wrong! anyways... it's just sad that a great piece has turned stale since it has been used to much.

I am a professional classical musician. If ANY of us have to hear this piece again, we will SCREAM!!!!!! Pachelbel was not all that famous - can you name 3 MORE pieces by him that are well-known?? Of course, I have played for hundreds of weddings, so this piece has made me a LOT of money over the years - but we are on auto-pilot. This is like you making a website about grass - no, wait, there are so many kinds of grass, even THAT would be more interesting!!!
