Do many plays, go out for commercials, try to be an extra in films. Get acting lessons, try to get an agent. The more exposure she has, the better her chances of becoming a movie star.

Don't think about becoming a movie star, there are too many 10 year olds, in Hollywood and NYC, that have been acting since they were 5 years old.
You have a lot of competition.
There are enough 10 year old actors who work professionally.
Think of another career.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

And keep mommy out of it. Too many stage mothers using their children vicariously, but unwilling to admit it.

Trying to become a movie star is not a normal life. A 10 year old child needs some normalcy in his/her life, regardless of what mommy wants -- or says that her little girl wants.

She has to be serious, she has to know if she is going to be in the the acting buisness all it is, is work work work, no excuses like "I dont feel like it," She also has to have talent, and be what the agent is looking for. If she is amazing, get her agent and audition for things. If it is just another girls dream and she just wants to be famous, it isnt worth it. You have to LOVE acting if you want to do it, not just do it because of fame and money. She also has to be prepared for many put-downs.

Hi, I'm just here to warn you that newyorkgal71 thinks she is better than everybody and often answers questions by calling the asker "Hon" which makes her seem more superior compared to everyone else.

DON'T LISTEN TO HER. SHE WANTS YOU TO GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS!
