I went to a WNBA game recently and found it to be very enjoyable. However, there were hardly anyone in the stands.
My brother says no one wants to watch women, who look like men play ball. Do you think if they were more feminine off the court they would attract more fans??
Would need to make these hard working ladies super-stars!!!!

You have to start from the source and that's womens college basketball. More womens college games need to be shown on national tv. Once the college game has a strong following then they will follow to watch them in the WNBA.
Something needs to be done soon to boost the league because I'm not sure how much longer the NBA who supports the league will continue to lose money year after year with some of these teams.

As basketball player it would be a pity party to think about how many fans are in the stands. The ladies love to play that is all there is to it. They don't care how they look they just love to play. The fans are just merely there to support the teams. The players however are on the team and should not have to worry about looking pretty out there when they need to score a basket at 8 sec to go on the clock. Lol the peopel will eventually start coming in. To me the NBA is fading because some of them to me arent roll models. Like getting into fights with audience, technicals being called. You know. As for the WNBA they to me are more poised and go into there games like they are suppose too and do what they know to do play the game of BASKETBALL. If anyone judges them they are jerks just because they arent pretty. They are amazing women. Families might rather want there children watching WNBA because they arent like NBA were the players try to fight the audience. lol. My oppinion is the WNBA players shouldn't have to change for nobody but play. I'm glad you noticed this cause i have to. But when it comes to basketball would your rather want a skinny,non athelete, trying to play up agianst Diana Taurasi, or Lisa Leslie. She wouldn't last second will she. So leave the modeling to the models and the athletes to the playing field!!!!! They do fix up off the courts also for photo shoots, and stuff like that. But i wouldn't judge them because they arent pretty thats a sign of prejudice.

The NBA and NFL were like that once, but time brought wealth and sell-outs.
I guess "sell out" has a double meaning in this era of game-fixing by gambling referees.
Have you ever seen how women are dressed for beach volleyball? Nice!
Women's pro golf has improved it's TV ratings with a generation of attractive young competitors wearing mini skirts.
It has become eye candy for guys.
If the WNBA teams wear sexier uniforms they'd attract more male fans.

Not all of the WNBA players look like men. I was surprised when you see them up close some of them are really hot. But on TV, yeah they dont look good. I dont know why. Its weird on TV the cheerleaders look hot, but up close when you see them they are all wrinkly with yellow teeth (at least the old hawks cheerleaders) and on TV WNBA players look ugly, but up close they are hot (not all of them but more than you would think) I dont think men are really that interested in girls sports. College basketball is different because you root for the same college that you follow in mens sports. Us men get camraderie and whatnot from sports, alot of sports is male-bonding (watching games with your guy friends at a sports bar, talking trash about your friends team) but you cant do that while watching girls run around, unless your a pervert and bonding with your friends by demeaning the women on TV. Which is wrong. Plus the women arent as fun to watch because they aint as athletic.

im a guy, i went to a sparks game...i wasn't disappointed...if i wanna look a hot chicks playin a sport...my girl plays volleyball...those chix can compete...but for some reason it really is just hard to beat the NBA for ratings...better than the D-League tho...i think the sports bras n short shorts comment was funni...maybe outta place...but funni...the wnba players aren't there to be checked out, i dont think, they wanna sho that they kno HOW to play...n they do...good luck w the ratings

They need to give the WNBA more publicity and advertisement!! i find it harsh how some of these guyz comment on The WNBA Players...there talanted girls who need more support and praise.

Look at tennis... the hot looking girls draw the fans. Can you say, "Anna Kournikova?" Or how about that young, hot Asian girl golfler, "Michelle Wie?"
The girl does need to have SOME skills, but Imus was sure right when he called those girl basketball players what he did. I thought one of them was a MAN when she was shown... brrrrrr
