Lie detectors actually only work on people who feel bad and anxious about lying. One of the qualifications of people who run for political office is the ability to not feel bad or anxious about lying. So the lie detectors would be useless against them.

NO ONE WOULD WIN.
That is one fantastic idea. I wish wish wish the American people would demand that.
Every word out of their mouth that chart would be going crazy. They are ALL liars. Democrats Republicans.
Then you would see some third and fourth party candidates who are actually telling the truth and mean what they say.
If these candidates claim they are telling the truth why wouldn't they do it.
America should demand it. We are the leaders. Not a group of corrupt liars in Washington.
Take the Government back and this would be a f'ing great first step.
They wouldn't be able to open their mouths. It would be hilarious and scary.

The winner would be the most amoral without conscience individual. Those are the ones who can beat lie detector tests. We have plenty of those in government already.

Lie detector tests are not 100% acurate. The idea of a debate is for you to decide if they are stating ideas and concerns you feel are important. They are not on a witness stand, they are telling you what they hope to do if they are elected and how they feel about certain issues

Oh my God.this is undoubtedly the very BEST question ever posted in Y/A.by far !. You will all have to admit regardless of your party affiliation, this idea is aw some. It would be worth it just for the humor.

Wouldn't work...since they all constantly lie you'd always get the same response on the lie detector.
