last night, I was on the highway and I was driving about 58-65, very cautious because the week beforehand I had recieved my first speeding ticket in close to 10 years of driving.

All of a sudden, an undercover car pulls me over. He comes up kind of upset saying "You don't know why I pulled you over tonight?". He asked for my license and when I went to get it he said "Don't kill yourself".

He basically didn't like the fact that I had boxes in my car (I was moving) and I told him I was going back to where I was moving too and I had been overtired because of the busy week I had and the little sleep I was getting and wanted to take care of some things.

He explained that the reason he had pulled me over was because I was "on top of my brake" (I was scared about getting pulled over again because in Taxachusetts they are always out there) and that my speeds (while not speeding by anymeans) kept fluctuating and he was concerned I w

being irresponsible with a 4,000 lb piece of metal. Honestly, I didn't need this. I was extremely cooperative with the guy, as I usually am in something like that, but I don't have a record, up until last week I was a perfect driver (well legally wise), and I gave him no attitude and had NO alcohol in my system. I told him I was nervous, I told him I was anxious, so he told me to get out of the car. This whole thing went on for 10 minutes. He said to me that he was not giving me a hard time for driving late at a night........it was a free country, people do it, his concern was that he thought something was going on. He asked me if I was drinking then he told me his job was to find the "bad people" and he then told me "You don't give me that vibe", "Im not a bad guy".
Did he think I was a retard Because I felt like one, as well as embarrassed. Life has been good lately, pretty damn good, but this has really bothered me. I couldn't sleep? He asked me about my trophies?

What they were for and then he said "You any good at baseball?".

Good to see Michael Vick will soon get a slap on the wrist and "court fees", Jayson Williams' case is thrown out the window and OJ got away with what he did. I also had two people commit road rage against me and the cops weren't there.........

And yes I took it personally. I did nothing wrong.

Was I being talked down to like I was special needs? Im dead serious about this>

Again, alot of you people on this site say things just for being rude.......If you want to be an ***, give reasons to back it up or prepare to be annoyed........

Smedrik, that's nice........But the problem is...you know considering if you even bothered reading my entire rant and not drawing your own conclusions based on the first paragraph that I was only driving funny because of fear, unneccessary discomfort instilled by one of his own.......

That's issue enough to me. Are you a cop yourself or something? I really don't get why you're so bias on this.....

"I read all of your first post"

You can don a kimono and tour with Gwen Stefani for all I care because I still think there's underlying reasons you're indirectly pandering to the "cops".

Can you at least explain where you're coming from?

Or would that be arm twisting or a burden on your part.......

I really simphatyze with you. I know exactly what you mean and there is the underline problem in US (i don't mean to offend anyone). The emphasis is on the financial penalty and not on drivers education. I have a really skeptical view of the fine, points system. Did you know that insurance companies GIVE radar and laser equipment to the police depts? While there are lots of as#$%holes out there on the roads. Sometimes, you are just distracted or following the traffic flow. The biggest hypocrisy is when they monitor an avenue or route during the middle of the day and not during rush hour. In VA, there are lots of places where everyone is going over 10-15 above the limit during rush hour and they won't stop because of the volume of cars. However, they will pull you over if they can "clock" you individually. Anyway, you were correct in being honest and respectful, these weight a lot if you go to court. Usually anyway.

Are you still on this kick, you were riding your brakes which is actually a very unsafe practice. You are very luck you didn't get a ticket.

You were driving dangerously, the cop called you on it. I don't understand where the issue is.

I read all of the first post. And whether you were afraid or not in inconsequential, you were driving dangerously.

If you are paranoid, tired or otherwise impaired you should not be on the road if it causes you to drive in an unsafe manner. I am not a cop, I work in a trauma room, very closely with the police and accidents investigators and see first hand what the results of people driving dangerously are.

it isn't a crime, but it IS reason to pull you over. What you were doing, basically riding your brakes, is a common thing for drunk drivers to do. The cop was doing his job. Drunk Drivers, and those under the influence of ANY drug, tend to ride their brake, vary their speed frequently, and weave within their lane. These don't have to happen at the same time, but are the 3 biggest indications of DUI.
