I believe that both players are way beyond their ability to help a team. At best, players like this can provide some leadership for the younger players and anything they might be able to contribute should be looked at as an unexpected plus.

I am gonna put it plain and simple. Theyare both old and are gonna see diminished speed and ability. But as far as withstanding th etest of time, finesse players are much more adept at this. Penny will blow, he was never a great shooter or outstanding passer, he was an athletic phenom and could get past people and make some pretty suite plays but he won't be able to get by anyone anymore. Reggie if he plays will be a good addition for a few minutes a game because his shot will never leave him. You can spot him up and he will drain 40% of his 3's. So Reggie Might be able to add to a Boston team that is looking to make a run for a title. While Penny on the Heat will just be another aged vet with increasingly limited mobility.

i've been asked this before and i will use the same answer

i actually see playing time for both if they sign with the respective teams (penny did sign)
reggie miller & Boston - boston isn't deep plain and simple
they traded 5 players for 1 (=4) and signed 2 (=2) and signing reggie (=1) would make complete sense (more for the celtics than reggie however

anfernee "penny" & Miami - losing posey and signing smush is sort of good i guess. i see smush being a good role player but they had eddie jones come in last year mid-season and play well and dallas expects thaprobably. Penny is still probably a solid player and not occupied like all other retired players with a broadcasting gig.

Fans: inless a replacement is found for Reggie, look for some more Magic and A LOT of BARKLEY on TNT

Maybe Reggie could help Boston a little. But I don't see how Penny is going to help at all . He's done, just hanging on.

I'm shure penny will get alone well with all the teamates..right now i can't predict what will be the outcome on the court..hopefully all turns out well and he really steps up his game and becomes a great help for Miami!! I'm acutally gladd reggie is on the Celtics..he is a good attribute to the team.

I don't think Hardaway is in good enough shape to help the heat all that much, but he will be a body, an that is all they really needed. Miller, however, could make the Celtics into a better contender in the east. He would bring a veteran presence to the bench, since Peirce, KG, and Allen will all be on the floor. Miller will help teach the young guys what it means to be a good NBA player, and he will make doubling Allen impossible in late game situations.

Reggie can give boston another shooter capable of hitting the three, and also another veteran presence to help develop Rajon Rondo.
