Your PC is till fine. DX10 cards work fine under DX9 in Win XP. Go ahead and buy a DX10 card now for your PC. Run it on DX10 under Vista later.

You can get by with your computer. The new batch of video cards have been very dissapointing and there are few DirectX 10 games worth bothering.

The new CPUs from AMD and Intel are due in two months. I would hold off until the beginning of the year.

In the mean time, get an XBOX360 if you like lots of games, or Wii if you like fun social games.

You computer can run Vista, and if you get a directx10 video card you should no problem running directx10 games. There are exactly 0 directx10 games right now btw, so don't be in a huge hurry.

ddr3 is very expensive and is not much faster than ddr2 because the latency is still too high.

It makes no sense for you to buy a new computer right now.

Buy a computer. Definitely not a wii or xbox. They will be out of style in 2 or 3 years and then you'll wish you purchased something more useful. You should buy a new Dell, but not the kind with a fused hard drive. Get the open one, although it costs more you can update it easier in the future.

Your computer is fine for now. If it runs good and fast, just keep it. New technology is always coming, so wait a while. When you see something very good, then buy!!!!
