Wow… funny you should ask, because my power went out yesterday due to a storm that came through (probably the same storm…lol) – but certainly not to the magnitude that it has effected you. Our power flickered on and off for a while all day, with power being out for about 30-45 minutes one time at it’s max. Other than that, it is up and I am back here playing catch up with my answers now. Ha Ha! Hope you get your power back soon, and *whispering* don’t worry… I will not tell the boss. ^_^ Cheers!

Surprisingly ours has gone out during every one of the severe thunder or wind storms in this area. The last time was for a few minutes last week.
Even though most of the wiring has been converted to the new extra-strong style (and even where there are underground utilities) there have been big outages. I assumed that the failure was at central locations not just a little tree down here and there.,

About 3 years ago at my old house. It was during a storm, but the power was only out from about 8:30pm till 2:30am - we called that night the "black out of 04". That house always lost power for some reason.
Good luck though - hopefully when you get home you'll have power!

We've had more power outages in seven months this year than when I lived in a 3rd world country for two years-Mexico. It's gone out five times here in southern Michigan. Consumers Energy should travel to Mexico and study how their experts handle electricity.

About a month ago. We had a "brown out". It's where the electric company feels people are using too much energy and they turn off power in certain areas.
Isn't that nice of them?

I live in Kansas, so I was part of that two week power shortage back in January .
What annoys me is those nano-second power surges. I rather have a power outage than those.. Power surges are hard on electronics.
